November 20, 2016 - LMSC Invictus (U13 boys) captured first place in the top flight of the prestigious Bethesda Premier Cup last weekend in Maryland. Invictus won all three games in group play, posting victories over Philadelphia Soccer Club (2-1), Bethesda (4-1) and Beadling (7-0). Sam Nyenka had a hat trick versus Bethesda and Zion Scarlett had three goals versus Beadling.

The finals versus Real Jersey FC was a Real thriller. Invictus went up 1-0 on a goal by Sam Nyenka in the first half, but Real tied the game midway through the second half. Justin Von Eck scored on a free kick in the first overtime, but Real again tied the game in the last seconds of the second overtime. It was on to penalty kicks. Zion Georges, Sam Nyenka, Steven Fajardo, and Justin Von Eck all converted on their penalty kicks while Real NJ missed two of their first four penalties, with Invictus goalie Michael O'Gara making the last save. Congratulations to Invictus on winning the Bethesda Premier Cup.
